The bar is fed through an abrasive blast machine. This process both cleans the bar as well as creates an anchor profile for the epoxy coating adhesion.
The clean bar exits the abrasive blast machine. Tests are performed multiple times a day to ensure specifications are met. The product is now ready to be heated.
An electric induction unit heats the bar to powder specifications. Temperature is constantly observed electronically.
Epoxy powder is applied using multiple spray guns. The guns are adjusted to apply the correct millage.
The bar is cooled in a quench tank so that it then can be tested for holidays and correct coating thickness. Multiple samples are taken daily to test the coating for Cathodic Disbondment, as well as defects from the stress of bending.
Bundles are counted out to fill orders or stock quantities. A padded conveyor system handles the finished product, and overhead cranes transport the bundles.
